In celebration of their 65th Anniversary on the night of November 11th, Alcone makeup took us back in time to see where it all began \u2014 into the cinematic streets of New York and inside dressing rooms of the 50’s era burlesque showgirls.<\/p>\n

Early in the evening, guests mixed and mingled over cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in the grand hallway of Capitale that had been transformed into an art deco New York street scene with vignettes showcasing some of nightlife’s most interesting creatives, including Amanda Lepore, Muffinhead, CT Hedden and more.<\/p>\n

The main ballroom opened up to reveal a massive recreation of a backstage dressing room equipped with vintage attired showgirls who spent the night dressing and undressing, powdering their noses and dramatically misting their voluminous curls with Aqua Net to the sounds provided by mistress of ceremonies, Lady Bunny. While the burlesque girls primped and polished all night long, the guests were surprised with a performance by music icon Ronnie Spector, a musical tribute to Alcone by Kembra Phaler and her cult band ‘The Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black’, a rare throwback set by 80s drag legend Lypsinka, and a fan dance by Los Angeles based burlesque queen Miss Mosh.<\/p>\n
