In the summer of 2013, Kate Tucker & The Sons of Sweden launched a\u00a0Kickstarter<\/a>\u00a0campaign to fund their album titled\u00a0The Shape the Color The Feel<\/em><\/a>.\u00a0 Produced by Konrad Snyder (Kopecky Family Band) and Jordan Lehning (Caitlin Rose) and recorded in Nashville,\u00a0\u00a0they reached their goal, and now have turned their attention toward visuals. The band is working with ten film makers to create music videos and short films to accompany each song. \u201cWe will release each film serially as the album rolls out along with an experimental documentary that retrospectively features the\u00a0community\u00a0that this collaborative venture will inevitably foster.\u201d The album, coming\u00a0February 11th, will be released on a limited edition 180 gram vinyl\u00a0featuring art by Australian artist\u00a0Jessie English. She also\u00a0created an accompanying photo installation, which is set to show in select galleries this year.<\/p>\n This of course sounds familiar, in the wake of Beyonce\u2019s newly released self-titled \u201cVisual Album<\/a>\u201d that features a music video with each song. However, KT + SOS have a slightly different variation. The filmmakers have complete artistic control, going by their own interpretation of the music to create the videos. The result is a wildly diverse video compilation, as each filmmaker has an individual reaction to the music.<\/p>\n The first visual installment for the song \u201cLooking Around\u201d made its debut on the\u00a0Vinyl District<\/a>,\u00a0and the second visual story for the song \u201cBlue Hotel\u201d (featured image by Jesse English) was released in conjunction with the\u00a0Nashville Indie Spotlight<\/a>, a compilation featuring 30 of Nashville\u2019s best up and coming artists. \u00a0Just today the mini-movie for \u201cHangover\u201d was released via the film and music hub\u00a0Way Too Indie<\/a>.\u00a0Way Too Indie will also be hosting a joint interactive interview and discussion\u00a0(via Google Hangout) with music maker Kate Tucker and film maker Jessie English about the video and overall project this Wednesday (1\/15) from 2:30 – 3:00pm.
