Privy to her tendencies for creating an unconventional, relaxed femininity, one that is intellectualized yet tangible, Mona Kowalska’s latest collection takes its inspiration from the sports injuries of a heroic athlete. A triumphant orchestral soundtrack guides the models down the runway in their assertive gait and understated composure.<\/p>\n

Sombre hues of bordeaux, navy, graphite, and pitch black\u00a0complement zippy plaids and a blaring crosshatch print \u00a0juxtaposed against lightening bolts\u00a0resembling the Gatorade logo. A D\u00e9tacher fans\u00a0rejoice\u00a0because\u00a0Kowalska’s panache for redefining casual luxe shines through in her\u00a0sensual\u00a0layering of cozy cashmere atop sheer silk tanks and sculptural wool coats.<\/p>\n

Kowalska’s\u00a0ever-present theme of the fallen sports hero is both cheeky yet provocative. What at first glance seems like a mulberry, knife-pleated jersey skirt is actually paneled in the back. Darker themes of the sports industry are played upon with one of her lush cashmere\u00a0sleeveless grey maxi dresses that simply reads “Drugmule.”<\/p>\n
