I recently had the chance to catch Australian singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett<\/a> kicking off her tour with Phosphorescent and while I might have been the only one there to see her specifically, I\u2019m pretty sure I was not the only one who left charmed by her honest nature and her catchy, bopping, indie folk music. Her witty lyrics cover topics from gardening to masturbation in such a quirky and lovable way and her spirited performance was captivating, guitar and long brown locks flailing about in an impassioned delivery.<\/p>\n Rolling Stone has compared her to an early Bob Dylan; quite the compliment for the 26 year old, who was recently signed to Mom+Pop after releasing her first couple EPs on her own label, Milk! Records. Her most recent effort,\u00a0The Double EP: A Sea of Split Peas<\/i>\u00a0was released\u00a0April 15 and you can check out the video for a cut from the record dubbed \u201cAnonymous Club\u201d below or where it debuted on\u00a0NY Times Magazine<\/a>.<\/p>\n Also check out the video for personal favorite, \u201cHistory Eraser,\u201d<\/a> which is a sort of drunken dreamland love story chronicling adventures on planes, trains, taxis, and tractors and river boats.
