For Mockingjay<\/a> junkies, this most recent Hunger Games installation seemed to be brimming with\u00a0enough emotional and psychological intensity as much as any Thanksgiving or\u00a0holiday-related celebration. Bleeding with political subtext from every orifice and\u00a0lacking a considerable amount of fighting\/action and death defying stunts, the film left more\u00a0room for a visual analysis of costumes and set. Covetabley queer, professing a drab,\u00a0monochromatic palette replete with textural allure, Mockingjay Part 1 had\u00a0undeniably the sexiest costumes of this year. From head-to-toe, let\u2019s break down the\u00a0revolutionary-chic repertoire to work into your everyday.<\/p>\n

Cressida<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Natalie Dormer who plays Cressida sports a crisply styled Skrillex haircut adorned with an\u00a0<\/span>ivy tattoo which meanders on to her ear to offset her lush, tasseled honey-blond\u00a0<\/span>mane which looks more like its been lavishly bathed in fresh salt water rather\u00a0<\/span>than washed in a makeshift post apocalyptic bunker. (Oh #hollywoodglam).\u00a0<\/span>The Skrillex, <\/a>a vestige from late \u201860s\/\u201970s crust punk, was one of\u00a0<\/span>2013\u2019s biggest moments in queer culture and trickled its way into the mainstream<\/span>. From Bushwick\u2019s Bassanova to Portland\u2019s Sugartown this new \u2018do had as\u00a0<\/span>much relevance and popularity as the Kind Bar. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Leather paneled separates, practically a mandate for any dystopian\/Sci Fi flick, \u00a0was\u00a0<\/span>omnipresent. \u00a0However, unlike the past Hunger Games or\u00a0<\/span>Divergent, ultra modern tailored leather garments transformed into entire overalls in this case.\u00a0<\/span>Not only are leather coveralls a custom of the fictional country of Panem, but also on the agenda\u00a0<\/span>for A\/W 2014. \u00a0But, if you want to profess your true unconditional love fort the\u00a0<\/span>Katniss style you musn\u2019t forget a pitch black button down \u2013 also great to give your\u00a0<\/span>on and off duty attire a severe yet sophisticated twist. \"peeta\"<\/a>Finally neckties, bow ties and every decadently modern deviation of this sort were a probably one of the most exciting elements to the costume\u2019s in Mockingjay Part 1 in my opinion. \u00a0The character Peeta (yes, he\u2019s alive, I didn\u2019t spoil it for you because it’s in the trailer) professed a new look with \u201820s style men’s detachable collar polished off with elegantly sculpted, stiff neckties. Most notably is his all white ensemble resembling the nave of a ship or a chapel. In another scene he wears a similarly styled necktie only made out of what looks like mother-of-pearl. But even you can take Peeta\u2019s reductionist take on dapper to your necktie accoutrement with these fabulous finds\u2026.<\/span><\/p>\n
