<\/a><\/p>\nBelow is the manifesto of New York based\u00a0UPNY<\/a>, a clothing line that prides itself on a minimalist aesthetic and the classic square collar. As a brand it is\u00a0“interested in redefining the human body through the relationship of forms and shapes.”\u00a0In celebration of their release party tonight I was able to discuss with founder Allen Feldman the inspiration behind this creative endeavor that officially launched in 2011.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Please RSVP for tonight’s discount release party to upny@omenpr.com. Black or white attire only.<\/p>\n When did you launch UPNY? How do you personally describe the brand and the mission?<\/strong><\/p>\n I launched UPNY in 2011 as a t-shirt brand. It has since turned towards design as fashion has become an outlet of communication when I can’t find the right words to express myself.\u00a0UPNY’s mission is to unlock the energy instilled in all of us by working with forms that reshape the body, making the masculine, feminine and the feminine, masculine.<\/p>\n UPNY features an iconic square collar in the S\/S ’15 collection. What is your inspiration behind this?<\/strong><\/p>\n People used to tell me how to dress and what to say. Fortunately I never listened. The collar squared is inspired by these experiences.<\/p>\n How would you describe your personal style? Does UPNY reflect that?<\/strong><\/p>\n #aggressiveelegance.\u00a0Yes.<\/p>\n Where did you learn fashion design? What inspired you to begin?<\/strong><\/p>\n I don’t have a formal fashion education. I worked for a fashion house a couple summers with designers who took me under their wing. I knew I could do it better so I did.<\/p>\n I love your photography and creative direction. Do you work with other artists?<\/strong><\/p>\n Thank You \ud83d\ude42 Yes!
