In addition to the fashion show, guests are also invited to attend and participate in a queer fashion panel discussion which begins at 6pm, as well as enjoy exhibits, food, and drink. Galleries will be open to the public starting as early as 11am and remain open until 9:30pm. At 10pm, head to Woodland for the after party, presented by Hot Rabbit!<\/p>\n

Brooklyn Museum’s general admission prices are suggested contribution amounts. No one is turned away due to lack of funds! (This does not apply to the after party at a different location.)<\/em><\/p>\n

Each entity will sponsor two emerging designers whose work explores notions of gender identity through the empowering scope of aesthetic presentation. Posture is proud to present its two chosen unique and creative brands:<\/span><\/h3>\n

Posture Magazine presents:<\/strong>
\n\u25baSAGA NYC<\/a>
\nAt its essence SAGA NYC offers androgynous, progressive high-end sportswear. <\/em>The collections are known for their otherworldly inspired designs, versatile-wear <\/em>and clean modern aesthetic. The brand does not follow seasons, trends, or traditional <\/em>viewpoints and instead focuses on the conception of timeless pieces made <\/em>to evolve a current wardrobe into a statement. All clothing is made in NYC.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u25baLactic<\/a>
\nLactic is the fashion venture of Randi Shandroski, a Canadian born visual artist <\/em>currently based in Boston. Now in its third collection, Lactic recontextualizes <\/em>corporate imagery into custom gender-defying structural silhouettes. Through <\/em>ongoing collaborations with emerging artists, Randi Shandroski deconstructs and <\/em>reshapes the borders of art, sculpture, and fashion, creating a visual language which embraces subversion and gender fluidity.

dapperQ presents:<\/strong>
\n\u25baFabio Costa of NotEqual<\/a> (Project Runway 2nd place)
\nNotEqual explores creative innovation through fashion and art. Rooted in the <\/em>golden ratio, its artisanal garments challenge traditional tailoring with genderless <\/em>form; each piece is conceived and detailed to bring out the unique and the <\/em>beautiful. NotEqual\u2019s ambition is to push boundaries by promoting individuality, <\/em>while offering rational fashion.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u25baKaren Quirion of KQK<\/a>
\nFounded in 2012 by designer Karen Quirion, KQK is a fashion label offering<\/em> sophisticated and easy-to-wear apparel for the modern, urban fashionist@ who<\/em> embraces a masculine aesthetic.<\/em><\/p>\n

bklyn boihood presents:<\/strong>
\n\u25baSunSun<\/a>
\nToronto-based SUNSUN custom unisex clothing is a queer-owned brand offering <\/em>casual custom pieces in bright, Kente cloth, geometric, and graphic prints. SUNSUN <\/em>made their U.S. runway debut at Queer Fashion Week in Oakland last April <\/em>to much fanfare.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u25baJag & Co.<\/a>
\nJag & Co. offers pieces for LGBTQ trans men, masculine identified women, the <\/em>fashion forward and the fashion novice. Jag\u2019s innovative designs are inclusive to <\/em>all. Jag & Co. is the producer of New York\u2019s famous Rainbow Fashion Week.<\/em><\/p>\n

DYDH Productions presents:<\/strong>
\n\u25baFony<\/a>
\nFONY embraces the literal and functional, the concept can be perceived in the <\/em>brand\u2019s name. FONY embarks on articulating a new future, establishing a new <\/em>vocabulary and foundation. Fony translates as such: Fashion Origins (for) New <\/em>York. Built for the climate and pace of the NYC Lifestyle, the bodies are modular, <\/em>postgender and eminently wearable.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u25baMARKANTOINE<\/a>
\nThe brand belongs to a movement of young Montreal underground <\/em>designers who break down geographical barriers with their creativity. <\/em>MARKANTOINE has an aesthetic that is greatly inspired by the strange and the <\/em>dualities that are ever-present in our lives. His creative process first starts in the<\/em>
\n form of a dream-like chronicle that is defined by Gothic and exotic aesthetics.<\/em><\/p>\n

\nHailing from Virginia, DJ M.O. (born Monet Bernard) began her career at the University of Virginia in 2008, DJing numerous parties and events around the campus and within the Charlottesville community. After graduating, M.O moved on to play venues in Washington, D.C, and northern Virginia. Currently, M.O. has set her sights on New York City, already landing gigs around Manhattan with the likes of Whitney Day, Truckstop NYC, & Queer & Utter Bedlam. As an avid lover music and an overall good time, M.O. brings a unique style to every party she plays. Whether its Hip-Hop, Top 40s, or Dance, M.O. sets the tone with inventive mixes and a knack for reading every audience.<\/p>\n

\u2606 Runway MC: Tiq Milan<\/a>
\nTiq Milan has strategized with national news media outlets about fair and accurate reporting on transgender people and is a national spokesperson discussing the latest developments in transgender rights. He has been featured on CNN’s Reliable Resources, The Katie Couric Show, MSNBC’s Ronan Farrow Daily, Steven Petrow’s, “Civilities,” MTV News, NewsNation with Tamron Hall, Out There with Thomas Roberts, and is a regular contributor on HuffPost Live. Tiq’s work has been recognized by Ebony.com<\/a>, BET.com<\/a>, and the Trans 100 List, among many other acclaimed media outlets and national organizations.<\/p>\n
