On a mission to continually “channel higher consciousness to be a conduit for peace in the world,” NYC-based interdisciplinary artist Bunny Michael often addresses identity, feminism, and self empowerment in their work. Their Instagram seemingly exists as its own art project as they publish humorous memes where they are portrayed as a double — one represents the part that exists in the physical realm and the other represents the subconscious, or inner self.
They are not only a photographer and visual artist, but also a performer. Their latest project came recently in the form of the music video titled 888, directed by Alli Coates, the director behind Signe Pierce’s short film American Reflexxx. Bunny explains that this is “the end of the patriarchy, which gives birth to a new beginning.”
