Founded in 2012 by Joshua Adam Brueckner, SKINNYFATTIES “fuses technology with craftsmanship” to bring you a one-stop tie tailoring shop online.
The first of its kind, they not only happily alter your outdated ties, but also provide multiple pattern and sizing options to help you create your own perfect design. With this comes The Pop Collection where you choose your tie (100% cotton) based on width, primary fabric pattern, and the tipping/loop fabric that appears on the back. Your tie will then be made-to-order and hand stitched by the artisans working diligently in the shop.
Brueckner explains, “neckties aren’t one size fits all, neither are our customers.”
I find this model to be exceptionally exciting to the queer community as we become more and more in love with having our clothes tailored to fit our bodies. We’re more than just a template, and SKINNYFATTIES allows one to feel creative, unique, and confident.
