Fashion With A Mission: UN:DO Raises Awareness of Gun Violence

All of the fashion brands featured here on Posture are those who have a mission further than to just exist as another clothing option, and this new brand is no exception. UN:DO is a socially conscious apparel and jewelry brand that aims, with every collection, to bring awareness to debilitating crises that plague our society. Further, they are ethically manufactured in New York City and use high quality and sustainably spun fabrics.

Founded in 2016 by fashion entrepreneur Jack Klauber, UN:DO is officially launching on Tuesday, November 15th, with their first gender-neutral collection titled UN:LOADwhich was created to bring awareness to gun violence, an issue that plagues the nation and the home. To bring attention to, and help promote, anti-gun violence, every piece from the UN:LOAD collection has been creatively designed by shooting through each piece with an actual 12-gauge shotgun, making each item different. Additionally, each apparel is also branded with a beautifully laid, tiny gold insignia memorializing the name of someone whose life was taken by gun violence.

20% of the proceeds from the UN:LOAD collection will be donated to the not-for-profit Cure Violencea hugely profound organization that works to stop the spread of violence, while also rehabilitating previously incarcerated individuals and helping them become productive members of our society again.

“Growing up on the south-side suburbs of Chicago, I have experienced first-hand the dire situation of gun violence in my own community, and have always felt a devoted need to help remedy it,” states Klauber. “Our partnership with Cure Violence was a no brainer for launching our first collection because not only does this profound non-profit originate from my home town, it has sub-sectors all across America, and growing internationally. In addition to the fantastic work it does by reducing violence, it also provides much-needed job opportunities to previously incarcerated individuals. Gun violence tears at the fabric of our society.”
