Bruce LaBruce is a Toronto based filmmaker, writer, director, photographer, and artist. Starting April 23rd until May 2nd, MoMA will showcase Gerontophilia and a variety of short films by the renowned auteur/provocateur. He will also be there in person for post-screening discussions on multiple occastions. LaBruce is widely known to have kicked off the queercore movement as the co-editor of a punk fanzine called J.D.s and made a debut into the punk underground scene with his feature debut No Skin Off My Ass. “Layered with scathing wit and a fundamental rejection of capitalist control over the mind and body, his films take to task the mainstream porn industry as well as Hollywood.”
