Posture’s landing page (www.posturemag.com) is a visual playground. We have decided to take advantage of this layout to carefully choose and feature one artist per month who inspires us to be the “face” of Posture.
We are kicking off this new opportunity with M. Sharkey, an award winning New York-based photographer and filmmaker. His work has also been featured in a plethora of publications such as Artforum, Revolver, New York Magazine, TIME, Out, and The Observer.
As a prolific artist, M. Sharkey has completed many different projects that highlight aspects of the queer community such as Transmogrified, OUT 100, and MARS. Further, his series titled Queer Kids was just featured this July 2014 in The Rencontres d’Arles summer photography festival in France (and stay tuned because it’s coming to America soon!).
I am very much inspired by his stunning portraits of the drag performer Sharon Needles in particular and am excited to announce our new featured image to be chosen from this series.
