This collection attempts to explore self manifestation and celebrate those fearless enough to seek balance within their own non binary identity. Green and Mann draw visual inspiration from photographers such as Larry Clark, Nan Goldin, Judy Linn, and Diane Arbus.
Mann did not create his own interpretations of every single image Austin took. He chose selectively based on personal inspiration, and in some cases created multiples of a singular image including subtle design changes and perspectives.
Green has been photographing nightlife for years with special attention to the NYC underground queer scene. His love of dramatic and subtle moments comes through in this new body of work as he spent extensive time with each subject. These two artists whose work is so unique developed a bond from the beginning and were naturally drawn into this collaboration.
Additional images below, the exhibition will be on view until October 24th. Don’t miss the closing reception!
