Postcards from the Edge: A Benefit for Visual Aids (Last day tomorrow!)

use8Postcards from the Edge is a community benefit for VISUAL AIDS hosted by Luhring Augustine Gallery in Chelsea. The event is taking place this weekend and features the sale of original, postcard-sized works donated by established and emerging artists. However, all works are displayed anonymously and are sold for only $85 each. The artist’s name is  revealed after the purchase.

VISUAL AIDS, founded in 1988, creates change through the utilization of art to address the AIDS crisis. Their programs include “grants to HIV+ artists, working with estates to preserve artistic legacies, and using the online Artist Registry to promote the work of our artist members.” They present exhibitions, public events, and projects to raise awareness.

Make sure to join their mailing list at visualaids.org.

You better get there right at 12pm tomorrow (12-4pm) because the work is selling at a rapid pace. Buy two and get third one free!
