January 30, 2015 – February 1, 2015
Luhring Augustine Gallery
531 West 24th Street
New York, NY 10011

Postcards from the Edge is an incredible yearly benefit hosted by Visual AIDS that provides the opportunity for the public to purchase original pieces of postcard-sized artwork by both established and emerging artists for only $85 each.
This year some of the participating artists are Paul Chan, Robert Gober, Hans Haacke, Ann Hamilton, Mary Heilmann, Jim Hodges, Robert Longo, Marilyn Minter, Catherine Opie, Pipilotti Rist, Ed Ruscha, Lawrence Weiner and many more. The interesting appeal is that all works are displayed anonymously. The artist’s identity is only revealed after the work has been purchased.

The benefit will take place for two days and begins on Saturday, January 31 from 10am – 6pm and continues through Sunday, February 1, from noon – 4pm.
Anyone who purchases four postcards will receive a fifth one for free! On Sunday, guests who purchase two works will receive a third for free.

History of Visual AIDS’ Postcards From the Edge

Visual AIDS first held Postcards From the Edge in 1998 and has since raised over $700,000 via this annual fundraiser. Since the event’s conception, more than 17,000 postcard-sized works have been donated by artists from around the world. Noteworthy artists who have participated in past years include: Louise Bourgeois, Leon Golub, Barbara Kruger, Sol LeWitt, Frank Moore, Elizabeth Murray, Yoko Ono, Cindy Sherman, Nancy Spero, Tom Wesselmann and many others. By participating in Postcards From the Edge, artists and collectors support the mission of Visual AIDS, enabling the organization to produce contemporary art programs that promote AIDS awareness and support artists living with HIV.
